Utilizes 3-(4-sulfophenyl)butyrate (9463), 4-phenylsulfonate (9463). Please be aware that strains of this species are grouped in Risk Group 2 by German authorities when used in genetic engineering. (Medium 1, 30°C or Medium 457 with 1,2 g/l 4-phenolsulfonate, 30°C. Rehydrate and grow freeze dried cells from ampoules in liquid medium 1.
