<- ATCC <- B. van der Zeijst, K12 POP2136. F- supE44 hsdR17 mcrA+ mcrB+ rk- mk+ endA1 thi-1 aroB mal- lambda-. This host was constructed by cloning a 2.3 kb BglII fragment containing the cI857 and PR promoter into pOM41 and then transferring into the chromosome of C600. This was introduced into the MM294 background by P1 transduction with aroB. This host strain is useful for vectors with PR promoters so that expression is regulated by the cI857 repressor. (6298).
