This cell line may only be provided to non-commercial researchers for research purposes. The purchaser is the end customer. §10(2) of the DSMZ terms and conditions is not applicable to this cell line. A transfer to third parties is therefore completely excluded, even if they are companies associated with the end customer. All for-profit end users requesting the MV4-11 or customers which want to transfer the cell line to a third party have to contact The Wistar Institute at busdev@wistar.org (cc to hsteinman@wistar.org) to secure a license with Wistar prior to the purchase from DSMZ.

80-90% RPMI 1640 + 10-20% h.i. FBS
Subculture:
seed out at ca. 0.6 x 106 cells/ml; cells are difficult to culture and grow slowly at first; increasing the FBS content to 20% can be of advantage; cultivation in 24-well-plates appears to be better than in large culture flasks; maintain at 0.4-1.0 x 106 cells/ml but split carefully

at 37 °C with 5% CO2

ca. 50 hours
Harvest:
saturation density at about 1.0 x 106 cells/ml
