Origin:
established from the peripheral blood of a 29-year-old woman with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) (treated 5 years with busulfan from 1979-1984) one month after onset of myeloid-megakaryocytic blast crisis; cells were described in the literature to express megakaryocytic and erythroid markers and to respond to induction of differentiation with various reagents; parental cell line of subclone LAMA-87 (DSM ACC 270); cells carry t(9;22) leading to BCR-ABL1 e14-a2 (b3-a2) fusion gene.
