ACC 293
Species:
Syrian hamster (golden hamster) (Mesocricetus auratus)
Cell type:
pancreas ductal adenocarcinoma
Origin:
established from the pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma of a female Syrian (Golden) hamster induced by treatment with BHP (chemical carcinogen); sister cell line of HPD-1NR (DSM ACC 314); described in the literature to be homotransplantable (i.e. in other syngeneic hamsters) and to carry a mutation in exon 1 of the c-Ki-ras oncogene
