Subculture:
seed out at ca. 3 x 106 cells/80 cm2; split confluent culture 1:5 to 1:10 every 2-3 days; cells can be detached by pipetting with PBS or by mild treatment with trypsin/EDTA; after splitting, it is recommended to seed out the cells in fresh culture flasks as possibly the cells may not attach any longer in the old vessels

hamster highly rearranged near-diploid karyotype with 20% polyploidy - 22(20-24) - resembles published karyotype
