Morphology:

epithelial cells growing adherently as monolayers and in small clumps; image; image; image

Medium:

DMEM + 10% h.i. FBS + 2.5% horse serum

Subculture:

seed out at ca. 1 x 10⁶ cells/80 cm²; split confluent culture 1:3 to 1:5 every 5 days using trypsin/EDTA; occasionally, adherent clumps can be detached mechanically

Incubation:

at 37 °C with 10% CO₂

Doubling time:

ca. 30-40 hours

Harvest:

cell harvest of ca. 15 x 10⁶ cells/175 cm²

Storage:

frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO
