seed out at ca. 1 x 106 cells/80 cm2 flask; split confluent culture 1:3 once a week using trypsin/EDTA for about 10 min. to detach cells; after thawing and passaging, cells take 1-2 days to adhere

at 37 °C with 5% CO2
