Risk assessment:
The cells were isolated from the liver of a transgenic mouse and express GFP under the control of the collagen-alpha1(I)-promoter/enhancer; the cells were immortilized with a plasmid coding for SV40 large T; neither the genetic manipulation of the mouse nor the SV40 large T antigen exhibit human pathogenic properties; the cells were assigned to safety group S1 accordingly German legislation

Medium:
90-95% DMEM + 5-10% h.i. FBS + L-glutamine (final concentration 4mM)
Subculture:
seed out at about 0.5 x 106 cells in a T75 flask; split confluent culture up to 1:40 every 2-4 days
Incubation:
at 37 °C with 5% CO2
Doubling time:
ca. 16 hrs
Harvest:
ca. 8 x 106 cells in a T75 flask
Storage:
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO

Species validation:
Species-level identification was carried out by mitochondrial Cytochrome C Oxidase Subunit 1 (COI) DNA barcoding according standard ANSI/ATCC ASN-0003-2015 and revealed Mus musculus species.
