Medium:
80-90% alpha-MEM (with ribo- and deoxyribonucleosides) + 10-20% h.i. FBS
Subculture:
seed out at ca. 0.5-1 x 106 cells/ml; it might be of advantage to start culture initially in a 12- or 24-well-plate; after thawing viability may decrease to about 50% and possibly no cell growth during the first 3-4 days is ibserved (do not dilute); later on maintain at 0.7-1.5 x 106 cells/ml and split growing culture 1:2 to 1:3 once or twice a week

at 37 °C with 5% CO2
Doubling time:
about 40-50 hours
Harvest:
maximal density at about 2 x 106 cells/ml
