whole genome shotgun (WGS): JAFKRG000000000
Cultivation conditions:
Medium 1593 , 17°C
At the DSMZ, the cyanobacterial cultures are usually cultivated without agitation in 25 cm2 plastic tissue culture flasks with filter screw caps. To subculture DSM 101426 shake the flask gently to disperse the cyanobacteria and use 1-1,5 ml to inoculate 15 ml of fresh medium in a new tissue culture flask. Light cycle: 16 hours of illumination at 600 lux and 8 hours dark period. Transfer interval of 8 weeks.

<- L. J. Stal, Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ); CCY9618 {1996}. Water column. Netherlands, Vinkeveen. Sequence accession no. whole genome shotgun (WGS): JAFKRG000000000. The assignment to the species Synechococcus sp. is preliminary. Phototrophic. It cannot be excluded that the strain produces cyanobacterial toxins that can be dangerous to humans and pets. DSM 101426 is a non-axenic culture. Strain-specific literature (27332, 27343, 40723). (Medium 1593, 17°C).
