Summary and
additional information:
additional information:
<- J. C. Rabinowitz, Univ. of California, Berkeley, USA; MBJ-2. In contrast to the findings of Schiefer-Ulrich et al. (6119) this strain should be affiliated to the species C. cylindrosporum based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence data. Soil; Jamaica, Montego Bay (6118). Taxonomy/description (6118, 6119). Due to conflicting data it is unclear if the strain preserved in the DSMZ is identical to strain MBJ-2. Produces ferredoxin (6118), formyltetrahydrofolate synthetase (6118). (Medium 76, 37°C, anaerobic).
