Lactose positive, Eae positive (gamma), enterohemolysin positive (e-hly), negative for sorbitol cleavage and beta-glucuronidase, verotoxin negative (stx1 and stx2); does not have shigatoxin genes (negative verocell test, negative in shigatoxin-specific ELISA test "Ridascreen Verotoxin"). Strain is similar to EPEC strains, but a typical O157:H7. (Medium 381, 37°C)
