Biology of Bacteria Producing Natural Products
International VAAM-Workshop 2021
September 22–23th, 2021
hosted by DSMZ, Braunschweig and University of Tübingen, Germany
General Information
The annual international workshop "Biology of Bacteria Producing Natural Products" provides a platform especially for young researchers to present their latest results. The conference covers different aspects of natural product biosynthesis and engineering, such as "biochemistry and genetics of secondary metabolite production" or "regulation of the secondary metabolism". Other important areas are e.g. "synthesis of exoenzymes", "ecological role of secondary metabolites", "genome-guided drug discovery" and "genetic instability and genome structure". In the last years the workshop was attended by 100-150 international participants from academia and industry.
Due to the current development of the COVID-19 pandemic the conference will take place online.
The online workshop is jointly organized by Yvonne Mast (Leibniz Institute DSMZ, Braunschweig), Evi Stegmann and Ewa Musiol-Kroll (University of Tübingen) on behalf of the interest group "Biology of Bacterial Natural Product Producers", which is a section of the German Association for General and Applied Microbiology (VAAM).
