The Leibniz Institute DSMZ-German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures GmbH, Braunschweig offers the position of a
Postdoctoral Research Associate – Stem Cell Science (m/f/d)
in the Department Human and Animal Cell Cultures. The appointment will be initially for 5 years with a salary level according to TV-L E 14. The position is offered full time (39,8 hours per week) and is not appropriate for part time work.
The main tasks of the postdoctoral scientist will be the independent establishment and supervision of workflows for human pluripotent stem cell culture. This includes establishment of reprogramming techniques, establishment of iPSC lines and their quality control. In addition, the development of an independent research focus in the area of neurobiology or 3D organoid technology is expected. Participation in the introduction of stem cell cultures into the open collection of the DSMZ is desired.
For this task we seek a highly motivated and creative person with several years of experience in stem cell science and molecular biology. Requirements for the position are a PhD university degree and postdoctoral experience in stem cell biology, human genetics or a comparable discipline and the ability to plan and conduct experiments independently. The position requires excellent hands-on experience in stem cell culture and their characterization. Candidates should have a documented record in stem cell science and a strong background in molecular biological techniques Candidates with own research focus, experience in supervision of technicians and an interest in grant-writing will be given a preference. Knowledge in the performance and analysis of RNAseq experiments would be an advantage.
