Postdoc position in “Development of a viral-based CRISPR/Cas-system for potato (DeviCCpo)”

The working group VirusInteract located at the Leibniz-Institut DSMZ-Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen GmbH in Braunschweig, Germany, is offering now a Postdoc position in “Development of a viral-based CRISPR/Cas-system for potato (DeviCCpo)”


Your Job:

  • Plant virus-based CRISPR/Cas-vector construction
  • Plant genome editing and analysis of tobacco and potato plants
  • Assimilate and evaluate the relevant literature and its implications
  • Effective scientific writing and data presentation


Your Profile:

  • Scientist with experience in plant cell biology and virology or related field with publication record in relevant field
  • Knowledge of plant genome editing techniques with special emphasis on CRISPR/Cas
  • Experience in conducting research using crop and/or model plant systems, i.e. tobacco and potato
  • Experience in (fluorescence) microscopy
  • Experience in bioinformatics, statistical methods and –omics techniques
  • Ability to work independently and in a research team including technical personnel
  • Knowledge of both written and spoken English
  • High motivation with intellectual curiosity and rigour
  • Social responsibility in the laboratory
