The DFG-funded Transregional Collaborative Research Centre 51 (TRR 51) “Ecology, Physiology and Molecular Biology of the Roseobacter clade: Towards a Systems Biology Understanding of a Globally Important Clade of Marine Bacteria” has been established in January 2010. The DSMZ is involved with three projects, now in the second funding period.

In project A6 we conduct comparative phylogenomic and functional phenotyping studies to create a congruent model for the overall evolution of this clade, including the adaptation of its various genera and species to their distinct habitats.
