Analysis of whole-cell sugars

Either a culture of the strain or 15 mg lyophilized cells are needed.

The cells are hydrolyzed (1N H2SO4, 100 °C, 2 hours) and the sugars are analyzed by TLC on cellulose plates according to Staneck & Roberts (1974).
