Morphology:

Medium:

90% DMEM (4.5 g/L glucose) + 10% horse serum + 2 mM L-glutamine

Subculture:

split saturated culture at 1:2 to 1:3 every 1-2 days; optimal density at about 0.5-0.8 x 10⁶ cells/ml (not to be cultured below 0.5 x 10⁶ cells/ml)

Incubation:

at 37 °C with 5% CO₂

Doubling time:

about 50 hours

Harvest:

maximal density at about 1.5 x 10⁶ cells/ml
