Representative body for diversity

Diversity Officer

The Leibniz Association's ‘Equal Opportunities and Diversity’ working group has developed guidelines and measures to help establish a diversity-promoting and inclusive institutional culture at every Leibniz institution. This also includes the appointment of a diversity officer at each institution, which took place at the Leibniz Institute DSMZ in October 2022. The structural anchoring of diversity and inclusion means that age differences, sexual identity, ethnic and religious affiliation and social background are not a criterion when filling positions and do not play a role in day-to-day interactions.
The person in charge acts as a contact person in the event of uncertainties in dealing with the topic of diversity or in the event of specific incidents of discrimination of any kind. However, it is important to note that, unlike the office of the Equal Opportunities Officer, there is no legal basis for the Diversity Officer.
