spheroidal cells growing as clumps in suspension; grows as semi-adherent monolayer on surfaces coated with poly-L-lysine; image; image; image

Medium:

80% RPMI 1640 + 20% h.i. FBS

Subculture:

seed out at 2 x 10⁶ cells/80cm², at best in poly-L-lysine coated flasks; split 1:2 to 1:3 every 3-5 days; resuspend clumps by gentle pipetting on each occasion

Incubation:

at 37 °C with 5% CO₂

Doubling time:

ca. 120-140 hours

Harvest:

cell harvest of ca. 8 x 10⁶ cells/80cm²

Storage:

frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO
