Origin:
TK-1B is a subclone of TK-1, obtained by limited dilution. Cell line TK-1 was established in 1984 from the peripheral blood of a 22-year-old man, diagnosed with T-lymphoblastic lymphoma followed by leukemic conversion into acute myeloid leukemia (AML M4). Myelomonocytic characteristics of TK-1B were described to be similar to TK-1; the karyotype is provided in the original paper

Subculture:
seed out at ca. 1 x 106 cells/ml in 24-well plates with 20% FBS; no cell growth during first week. Later, split culture 1:2 to 1:3 every 2-3 days; maintain at ca. 0.5-1 x 106 cells/ml
Incubation:
at 37 °C with 5% CO2
Doubling time:
ca. 48-72 hours
