Scientists from the member institutes of the Leibniz Research Network "Bioactive Compounds" came together for this year's conference at the Science Campus Braunschweig-Süd from May 24 to 25, 2023. This year’s event was hosted the Leibniz Institute DSMZ-German Culture Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures GmbH. The annual meeting serves as a platform for exchange and discussion as well as for the presentation of scientific results in the form of lectures and poster presentations.
This year, for the first time, prizes were awarded for the best poster as well as for the best junior scientist talk. Both awards went to young scientists from the Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry in Halle: Ibrahim Morgan was honored with the award for the best poster, Mohamad Saoud received the award for the best talk.
In the context of the conference, Mohammad R. Seyedsayamdost (Princeton University, USA) was awarded with the “Leibniz Research Award 2023”.

Leibniz-Wirkstofftage 2023
Forschende der Mitgliederinstitute des Leibniz-Forschungsnetzwerks „Wirkstoffe“ kamen zu den diesjährigen Wirkstofftagen vom 24. bis 25. Mai 2023 auf dem Science Campus Braunschweig-Süd zusammen. Dieses Jahr war das Leibniz-Institut DSMZ-Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen GmbH Gastgeber der Tagung. Die jährlich stattfindende Veranstaltung dient als Plattform für Austausch und Diskussionen sowie für die Vorstellung wissenschaftlicher Ergebnisse in Form von Vorträgen und Poster-Präsentationen.
Dieses Jahr wurden erstmalig Preise für das beste Poster und für den besten Vortrag aus den Reihen der Nachwuchsforschenden verliehen. Beide Preise gingen an Wissenschaftler vom Leibniz-Institut für Pflanzenbiochemie in Halle: Ibrahim Morgan wurde mit dem Preis für das beste Poster geehrt, Mohamad Saoud erhielt die Auszeichnung für den besten Vortrag.
Der „Leibniz Research Award 2023“ wurde im Rahmen der Veranstaltung an Prof. Dr. Mohammad R. Seyedsayamdost von der Princeton University (USA) verliehen.
